Entek and its principals have served as developers of combined cycle, solar, cogeneration, and hydropower projects both domestically and internationally.

Caithness Long Island Energy Center

Caithness Long Island Energy Center

The Caithness Long Island Energy Center is a 350 MW natural-gas-fired combined-cycle generating facility located in Yaphank on Long Island. The project sells power to the Long Island Power Authority under a 20 year power sales agreement. It is the first major baseload power generating facility to be built on Long Island in thirty years and supplies over 10% of Long Island’s electricity. Construction was initiated in March of 2007 and commercial operation began in August of 2009. The project was completed on-time and on-budget and has had an excellent operating record.

Entek played the lead role in the early stages of this project, finding the site in Yaphank and performing initial development work. In 2003, Caithness acquired rights to the project, following which Entek worked closely with Caithness to complete development of the project.

Currently, Entek’s principal, Harry Davitian, is assisting Caithness in the development of a second natural gas fired combined cycle facility at the Yaphank site. More information about the project can be found at http://www.caithnesslongisland.com/projectsummary.htm.

Soda Mountain Solar Project

Soda Mountain Solar Project

The Soda Mountain Solar Project is a 350 MW solar photovoltaic power generation facility under development on approximately 3000 acres of land in the Mojave Desert in southern California. The project is located in one of the very highest solar insolation areas of the United States. The project site is adjacent to two transmission lines and a four-lane interstate highway bisects the site. The major environmental studies required for permitting have been completed and have demonstrated that there are minimal environmental barriers to the development of the project.

Entek initiated development of this project in 2007 and is currently actively involved in the development of the project through its subsidiary, Solenergis LLC.
